A Christmas to Remember

Let me share a story from one memorable Christmas during Lagniappe night. Our gallery was buzzing with energy, filled with art lovers and holiday shoppers. It got so busy that my husband jumped in to help manage the cheerful chaos.

That night, a woman was captivated by a stunning glass floral piece in our front window. It was love at first sight, and she was eager to take it home. Unfortunately, the piece had already found a home. Despite my husband’s gentle explanations and suggestions of similar artworks available, her disappointment was palpable. Her loud exclamation, “What kind of a place are you? Not to have any back stock?!” echoed through the gallery before she left in a huff. The sudden silence broke into soft laughter and shared looks of empathy towards my husband, turning the moment into a fond memory and a reminder of the unique challenges and charms of selling one-of-a-kind items.
